Currently investigating the Arduino Nano (Atmega328 V3 USB) as a replacement to the PIC18F628. It's about $5 more BUT uses a mini-USB cable, saving $$$ over the previous need for the unreliable comm port PIC-PG1 cable ($15). It also has a complete ALL-IN-1 FREE software package for coding compiling and uploading programs. AND it uses the simple PROCESSING language. Hopefully a real WIN-WIN-WIN.
